Editorial policy

What we include

The index records publicly reported personal-data incidents affecting organisations in South Korea, alongside certain regulator privacy decisions where they materially explain personal-data handling.

Status labels

Claimed means an allegation or credible report has been recorded without confirmation. Investigating means an inquiry is publicly underway. Confirmed requires an organisation disclosure, regulator statement, or documented official decision.

Classifications

Data breach, privacy violation, and cross-border transfer labels are separate. More than one may appear only when supported by the stored public record. A privacy decision alone is not described as a hacking incident.

Corrections

We welcome corrections with an official source or reputable documentation at contact@krdatawatch.info. Material corrections should update the record and its status history rather than silently overwrite the past.
