Privacy notice

Last updated: September 22, 2026

Site operator: KR Data Watch. For privacy, legal, or correction enquiries, contact contact@krdatawatch.info.

Scope

KR Data Watch is a public information index of reported data-security incidents affecting organisations in South Korea. This notice explains information processed when you visit the site or contact us. It does not apply to third-party websites linked from an incident record.

Information we collect

The public site does not provide accounts or personal-identifier searches. If you submit a public incident lead, we receive the information and optional email address you provide, and use them only to review the lead, respond, or maintain the index. If you subscribe to alerts, we retain your email address and consent timestamp to send low-volume editorial alerts until you unsubscribe.

Do not send passwords, credentials, leaked databases, identity documents, or other unlawful material. Please provide links to public or official source material instead.

Technical service providers

The site is delivered through hosting, DNS, and security infrastructure, which may process standard technical request data such as IP address, browser details, request time, and security logs to deliver and protect the service. Company-logo assets are served from this website. The site loads IBM Plex Sans, Space Grotesk, and Noto Sans KR web fonts from Google Fonts; that provider processes requests under its own policy.

Cookies and advertising

KR Data Watch uses Google AdSense to make advertising available. Google and its advertising partners may process technical information and use cookies or similar technologies for advertising, measurement, and personalisation. Where required, visitor choices are collected through a Google consent-management message. Details are available in our cookie policy.

External links

Incident evidence, official notices, and source articles may link to third-party websites. We do not control their content, cookies, or privacy practices.

Retention and your choices

We keep report correspondence and alert-subscription records only for as long as reasonably necessary to assess a report, send requested alerts, maintain an editorial record, respond to you, or meet legal obligations. You can unsubscribe using a future alert email or request deletion by contacting us at the address above. Browser settings can also be used to control cookies or local storage set by other services.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when site features or service providers change. The latest version and update date are published on this page.

Important

This notice is a good-faith transparency statement and not jurisdiction-specific legal advice.
